The AWF/Foxtel Screenwriter’s Address: John Collee on the Dream Machine

Each year, the Australian Writers’ Foundation present the FOXTEL Screenwriter’s Address, a prestigious oration that has quickly established itself as an essential part of our film and television intellectual landscape. The address is given by an esteemed Australian screenwriter, who is invited to speak on their craft and its place in the world, recognising the role the writer plays in shaping our society and culture.
This year, the oration is coming to the Wheeler Centre, and will be presented by John Collee, the acclaimed screenwriter and novelist. Best known for his feature films Master and Commander, Happy Feet and Creation, John will discuss ‘The Dream Machine’, providing insight into how we build stories, why we build them, and how they operate.
Proudly presented by the Australian Writers’ Foundation and generously supported by FOXTEL.
