On Sunday 23rd March, at the Children’s Book Festival 2014, find your way past the Sticky Maze and beyond the lawns of the State Library (where there’ll be characters springing to life from the pages of famous books). Weave through the crowd at the musical outdoor stage and make a beeline for Experimedia (inside the Library) to meet some of your children’s book heroes.
You’ll hear all about their books with our Meet the Authors and Illustrators series. In this session, Terry Denton will discuss Drawing stories from pencil to page.
All events are free, but we’re taking bookings for sessions featuring Terry Denton, Jackie French, Andy Griffiths and John Marsden.
Get in quick – these sessions will book out. If you miss out, though, don’t worry; you can still bring your book along to be signed by your favourite author.
Terry Denton is among Australia's busiest literary creative forces and his work, either as a writer, illustrator or both, can be found in popular children's titles such as Gasp!, Duck for Cover and Sucked In! He wrote and illustrated Felix and Alexander, which won the CBC Picture Book of the Year in 1986. He has illustrated more than 30 books, ten of which he has also written.
