As a musical group for homeless and disadvantaged people, The Choir of Hard Knocks (of ABC TV fame) found national success, winning awards and reaching the height of performance at the Sydney Opera House. Hard Knocks musical director, Jonathon Welch, talks about his time with the choir and how this experience had a profound impact on his life.
Now the director of the Melbourne Festival of Choirs, which brings musicians, singers and musical directors together with individuals and choirs of all abilities, Jonathon speaks passionately about the power of music, song and most of all, community participation and involvement.

Jonathon Welch
Jonathon Welch is an (ARIA, Logie and Helpmann) award-winning singer, choral conductor, recording artist, songwriter and producer. Jonathon was founding musical director of the hugely successful ABC TV series Choir of Hard Knocks.
