Why should Melbourne get all the fun? It’s not like if you live east of the Dandenongs or west of Bacchus Marsh you’re not interested in books, writing and ideas. In 2011, we’re getting in the Tarago and bringing our great events across the state. As part of The Aireys Festival of Words, On the Road pays a visit with Tony Wilson and Adam Zwar talking about their experiences writing about tabloids. This event will be held at Aireys Inlet Community Hall, Great Ocean Road, Aireys Inlet.
This is a free event but bookings are required via the festival website.
Tony Wilson is an author of twelve books, as well as writing columns and features for the Age, Good Weekend and The Monthly. He was part of the Breakfasters on Triple R for six years, and is still a regular visitor to both Triple R and 774 ABC Melbourne.
Adam Zwar is a multi award-winning actor, writer and producer. He is best known for co-creating and starring in the Australian comedy series Lowdown (ABC, BBC4) and Wilfred (SBS), which was formatted in Russia and the US. More recently, Adam created the popular Agony series (ABC) – which is currently in its 5th season. Selected acting credits include Party Tricks, Rake, Howzat, as well as feature films The Wedding Party and Rats and Cats.
We can’t wait to get back on the road again – bringing some of our favourite writers to regional Victoria. We’ll be packing up the car with books and authors, travelling from country to coast … and making sure Melbourne doesn’t get all the literary fun. Look out for our bootful of books – coming to a town near you.
