Encounters with Music

In this new series presented by the Australian Chamber Orchestra and the Wheeler Centre and held exclusively at ACO Pier 2/3, a quartet of defining Australian figures join Fenella Kernebone for revealing one-on-one discussions about the role of music in their life and work.

Leigh Sales AM was until recently the anchor of the ABC’s primetime current affairs program 7.30, and is the author of four books and host of the wildly popular podcast Chat 10 Looks 3 with Annabel Crabb.

Bill Henson’s photographs have been exhibited across the world for over four decades and are held in every public collection in Australia.

Helen Garner’s books – including The Children’s Bach, This House of Grief and Yellow Notebook – earned the Australia Council Award for Lifetime Achievement in Literature in 2019 as well as a legion of dedicated fans at home and abroad.

And distinguished Professor Larissa Behrendt AO is a Eualayai/Gamillaroi woman recognised for her work in Indigenous education, the law and arts.  She is the Associate Dean (Indigenous Research) at the Jumbunna Institute at the University of Technology, Sydney and host of Speaking Out on ABC Radio.
