Annalee Newitz: Scatter, Adapt and Remember

Listen to Annalee Newitz: Scatter, Adapt and Remember

These days, many of us have grimly accepted the fact that the human species is hurtling towards oblivion – if not in our lifetime, in that of our children or grandchildren. There doesn’t seem much that we, as individuals, can do to turn the tide before it’s too late.

Enter Annalee Newitz, a renowned science journalist determined to deliver a much-needed dose of pragmatic optimism (administered with sense of humour).

In her book, Scatter, Adapt and Remember, Newitz focuses our attention on humanity’s long history of dodging the bullet of extinction – and suggests practical ways to keep doing it. Be disarmed – and then armed (scientifically, intellectually and emotionally) to face the considerable challenges ahead.

Hosted by Tanya Ha.
