Children's Book Festival 2013: Freya Blackwood

Celebrated children’s book illustrator Freya Blackwood has a diverse creative background – extending from working on special effects for the Lord of the Rings films to her many collaborative books, with authors such as Libby Gleeson, Nick Bland, Cecily Matthews and Roddy Doyle. Her work with Margaret Wild – 2010’s Harry & Hopper – won her the coveted Kate Greenaway Medal for illustration in a children’s book.

Joining us at the Wheeler Centre for the Children’s Book Festival 2013, she chats to Leesa Lambert about her creative journey – and facing some of her most discerning critics.
