The Wheeler Centre is globally unique in its support for and promotion of writers, reading and literacy.

Each year we create hundreds of paid opportunities for artists; offer career-changing development programs for emerging and underrepresented writers; provide free and low-cost events for children, teens and teachers; produce digital outcomes for audiences across boundaries and borders; and host well over 100 entertaining and thought-provoking conversations.

As a not-for-profit organisation, we rely on the generous support of our community to make this essential work possible.

Together, we can make meaningful and lasting impacts on the Australian literary landscape. For example, last year the Centre provided more than 540 artists paid appearance opportunities, offered 41 development program placements, produced 27 low-cost or free education events and paid 30 teenage guests to contribute to the Centre’s programming.

We would love for you to consider a donation of any size to the Wheeler Centre and help support a vibrant and necessary literary community in Victoria and beyond. Every contribution helps.
